| The
National Police confiscated an arsenal of highly
explosive materials in the mountainous area of Ayapal.
Included were twelve M-79 projectiles. The arsenal
belonged to a former member of the Nicaraguan Resistance
movement. The local community states that there
is another arsenal in the area. The police want
to establish a more stringent control of the firearms
in the area and develop a program to urge the residents
to turn in their shotguns, military weapons and
firearms for hunting rifles. |
