| The
National Police (PNC) confiscated approximately
50 firearms every week in the metropolitan area,
which are then transferred to the Department for
Arms Control and Munitions (Decam). The number
of weapons confiscated each week has remained
approximately the same since these disarmament
operations started. The amount of ammunition confiscated
this week was 261 units. The arms are confiscated
from individuals that either do not have a license
or that are caught committing delinquent acts.
Among the confiscated weapons are pistols, shotguns,
rifles and fragmentation grenades. |
